First, just want to thank the dev for creating this solution. Great job. I have a couple questions though:

1. Aside from selecting "save file" option when the dl dialogue pops up, how can we configure it to work with "open with" option as well? Say you dl an .mp3 and you want it to open with foobar and be allocated to dir x at the same time, how would it be done? As of now, selecting that option directs the file to the temp folder.

2. Can anyone tell me how to get SoundCloud Downloader (found here: to play nice with ASF? It manages to bypass bringing up the dl dialogue and automatically downloads to default folder ignoring all the filters. I've tried adding a new Boolean named "" and setting to false, and it didn't work. Go to any page that has exceeded dl limits and please confirm, try page:

After installing plugin, you should see dl option and it will just bypass everything! Please advise?

Otherwise all filters work when dialogue box pops up, thanks!

I have to admit I don't use the "Open" very often.
Actually only for Torrent files, but my Torrent Client automatically makes a copy of opened torrents so I don't have any problem with the files downloaded in the temp folder.

I think this is a restriction from Firefox, as you don't want to "save" the file, it's only stored temporarily and deleted when not used anymore.
It acts as if it was sent directly to your application without saving the file at all (for users who don't understand how computers work, that's what they think happens ;))
I don't know if there's a way to change the temp folder.

ASF doesn't have access to the sources which trigger the Save dialog, so I can't change anything related to the saved file. (filename, default location for temp folder)
I can only modify the destination used by the "save file" choice, and let Firefox save to that place.
There's no setting I can change for the "open with" choice :(

2. I don't know this add-on.
I fear that it is using his own download script and doesn't use the default one provided by Firefox.
As a result, ASF is not triggered.

I have this problem with VideoDownloadHelper add-on too. There's nothing I can do without rewriting their add-ons.

I'll test SoundCloud to give you a definitive answer.

Hi Cyan!

Thanks for the reply! Oh well, it's no big deal just thought I would ask.

Yes, please do tell me what you think is actually happening with the Soundcloud addon and whether it could be remedied short of rewriting the addon altogether. I eagerly await your reply. Thanks!
