User info exept filter content
Jun 10 2011, 11:02 pm
Hi Cyan,

is there any possibility to exept some parts from the filter? because i couldnt find any commands for this in the "Filter Rules". Or Im just blind!

For example: Domain: * File Name: * (exept .mp3) Local Filter: A: Downloads

Because it would be much easier for me to cut things off.

There's no exception feature coded with ASF tags, nor exception input field.

Though, you can define exceptions using negative lookahead with regular expression.

Everything except file containing mp3:
Filters Domain
= Regexp.
File name
= Regexp.
Local folder

^ = start of the string
$ = end of the string
( )* = many time the content of the parentheses
. = any character, followed by
(?!mp3) = a string which is not MP3

So it will check every characters and will pass the test as long as it doesn't find mp3.

You can define multiple exception in one filter.
Everything except strings with .mp3 or .zip included anywhere in the filename:
Quote :

You can define the end of the string in the exception too :
Quote :

That will prevent matching filename like zipping.pdf

You can then ommit the escaped dot \. and the additional parenthesis as it will check only the end if the filename.
Write it like that:
Quote :

Just don't forget to enable "regexp" checkbox for filter's filename.

Alternatively, you can create a separate filter with your exception before the main filter.

domain: *
filename: mp3
folder: D:\download\default (same as default folder)

domain: *
filename: *
folder: A:\Downloads (specific folder for everything else)

Default folder if no filter is found: D:\download\default

If you download a .mp3, the saving path will be the same as the default path, like if the filter 2 was skipped and not triggered.
remember that the filters are checked from top to bottom and stop when it fine a match (except if you select "suggest all possible matching filters" in the preferences)
