hello there,
When I used Firefox I loved this extension. Now that I have moved to Chrome, I am severely missing it. Any chance that this would be made into an external download manager? I know the Chrome download API is too limited to make a chrome extension, however an external download manager with your regex functionality would be an amazing development.

If not, could anyone point me in the direction of a download manager that offers similar functionality?

I don't know other programming language.:(

Add-ons for Firefox are in javascript, so it's easy to integrate in the navigator.
The downloaded data are read by the navigator, and I'm using it.
It's not ASF which read the file's informations, it's actually Firefox. I'm only checking it and changing the internal saving path before Firefox actually open the file explorer.

If it was an external download manager, Firefox or chrome will have to export some informations, so an extension is necessary (but an easier one).

For Firefox, there is "flashgot" add-on, which will connect and send data to many external downloader.
a list here :
http://flashgot.net/features#dms

Maybe you could find one from that list which is compatible with Chrome and let you filter your downloads the same way as ASF does.
Sorry, I never used one, I don't know their features.
